Blondie.com for the comic strip, Blondie.net for the band.

Three for this Sunday:

Baby Blues by Rick Kirkman and Jerry Scott
Blondie by Dean Young and John Marshall
Dog Eat Doug by Brian Anderson

I guess Blondie has appeared here a few too many times, as currently the Google Ad on this blog is an advertisement to start your own Dagwood sandwich shop franchise. If anybody coming here to read esoteric comic strip criticism and smart-ass remarks ends up buying a Dagwood franchise, well, I'd be very surprised. Please let me know if you do.

Don't think the Blondie belongs here; the SPP, as you've defined it, is simply an overused comic beat. The silent panels in Sunday's Blondie, on the other hand, are depictions of social ackwardness. (One of the rare recent Blondies I liked, even though the punchline in the final panel is rather lame.)
